serena
Serena's love of performing began nearly 25 years ago at the tender age of five. "I remember the moment vividly… dragging my Mum on stage, then the realisation that 'I can do this' followed by me pushing her off as I continued to sing my little heart out… there’s been no stopping me ever since."
Since then she has performed in over 10 musicals including playing Annie in Annie, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Pandora in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, a soloist in The Gleevent, Oliver, Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat and many more. She spent her childhood performing at every moment possible; recording voice overs for radio, winning talent quests and taking home the award for Most Valued Dancer in open jazz three years in a row.
At the age of 15 and 17, Serena competed in a televised talent quest called Wannabes, hosted by Jason Gunn (once filming a solo video clip; and the other, a duet with her singing partner Ben Hazlewood). In recent years, she became a finalist to be the next What Now presenter. Chosen from hundreds of contestants, she co-presented the two-hour show live. She sang, danced, had a blast and made it into the top five!
When she finished school, she decided to continue her love for the arts by taking up study at UCOL, completing a six-month training course in performing arts.
sarah
Sarah was born and raised in England and moved to New Zealand when she was 11. She did competitive artistic gymnastics since she was three until she moved here. Quitting gymnastics and starting ballet was an extraordinary change for her. She had a love/hate relationship with the process of getting out of her gymnastics habits and in to ballet but she never found it boring.
Apart from dancing, Sarah has a huge passion for photography. She has worked with a number of professional photographers photographing school balls and weddings and she has also worked with Clyne Model Management. Sarah is grateful that she has found two strong passions to work towards in life.
Sarah has graduated from the Whitireia Performing Arts School with a Diploma and is now confident with a range of different styles of dace: Jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, hip- hop and show girl as well as ballet. She expresses her deepest gratitude to her entire family for being so positive and supportive of her throughout her life.
